Working while you study: a student visa lets you work up to 48 hours a fortnight during term and unlimited hours in scheduled breaks. The national minimum wage is $26.44 an hour, or $33.05 casual (most student jobs are casual), so a full 24 hours a week pays about $793 before tax. Most students work in hospitality, retail, cleaning, aged care, delivery and warehousing. Visa rules · Fair Work pay rates.

What this page cannot tell you

The CRICOS register records that this course exists, how long it runs, where it is taught and what it costs. It does not record the things below. No central register holds them:

  • Entry requirements — the qualifications you need to join
  • English level — the IELTS, PTE or similar score you need
  • Start dates — which months the course begins
  • Credit for past study — whether your past study makes the course shorter
  • Whether places are available now

Each school sets these rules. They can be different for each country and each student. They also change between intakes. Ask English Direct Australia Pty Ltd directly. Get the answer in writing before you pay anything.
